I originally founded Media Ink Publishing as a way to play with creative graphic designs and to try my had at writing. This was in 1986 while I was living in Seattle, Washington. It was a short lived project even though I really enjoyed producing some fun graphics for friends, and publishing an in store employee newsletter for REI where I was working at the time.
Fast forward to 2005. I began to entertain the idea of starting my own business, and I remembered MIP from many years ago. By now my life's perspectives had matured and significantly changed. I had spent the last eleven years working with individuals, families, youth, and couples as both an educator and and a therapist. I discoverd that my greatest joy was in helping others to discover themselves. Everyone has gifts, hopes, dreams, expectations, and opportunities. Unfortunately, many have lost sight of these as they have been blugeoned by life, abuse, failures, and any number of other events in their lives. It became apparent that only by rediscovering dreams, identifying abilities and blessings, and reigniting hope were my clients able to begin to move forward. This more than anything has given direction to MIP.
Media Ink Publishing has become my passion to reach out to others with practical information on how to rebuild their lives. Words have power, and positive words have the power to engender hope. However, hope can only take root when each individual exercises their personal power for choice. It is my desire that the projects of MIP should encourage people to choose to act, and find hope in developing a positive outlook. After all, as long as one draws breath, there is always opportunity.
As a final note, which is actually of first priority, readers should know that all of my projects are faith based in that I believe that God is both the source, and the guide of all of my inspirations. Also, because since I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior, so many miraculous events have happened. No, not all of them have been pleasant or what I would call good, but they have all lent themselves to a very positive, growth, and change in my life. I whole heartedly believe that if one reviews the information in MIP's various projects, and considers them in the light of faith, it can make an exponentioal difference in how effective the material can be in one's life.
Blessings to all.
